To Boldly Nerd…

Video games, pen&paper RPGs and other nerdery

Blog rebirth

2013 has come and gone, and the tumbleweeds have rolled through this site as I did anything but post. I had many ideas for posts, but not enough time or desire to actually sit down and write. Writing consistently is hard, yo! I have kept reading blogs, have seen other blogs go dark but regardless always continued to consider myself a blogger. Probably undeservedly, at this point.

It’s 2014 now, and once again I am picking up the virtual pen. I have redesigned my blog, switching to a responsive theme from Elma studio called Yoko. It’s a responsive theme, which I find very important these days. I do a lot of blog reading on our Nexus 7 tablet these days, and I want my blog to look good and be readable on it. My friend Caiters, who also just started blogging again, made a new header for me. But for the jarring presence of my Death Knight Yatalai it almost looks like this image is not assembled but was meant to look that way. For those who care, it’s a screenshot from Bioshock Infinite and the cover of Brandon Sanderson’s The Way of Kings. It’s to indicate the three pillars of this blog: PC games (maybe with a sprinkling of Android on the side), MMOs and books. I might additionally blog about TV shows, maybe even RL stuff. The scope is going to be a bit broader.

I have been playing more and more games from my Steam backlog, and I expect to be regularly writing about these games. I am trying my best to finish these games, let’s see how far along I will get with that goal in 2014.

Additionally, I am not going to be the only blogger around here anymore. My SO is also a self-proclaimed nerd, and will occasionally blog here as well. She will probably blog about her MUSH, about RP. We’re going to be playing a D&D 3rd Ed. tabletop campaign soon. She might also post about ponies. Anything is possible.

In honor of the re-design, I went with a new title as well. My SO is a Star Trek nerd and thus, we are going to boldly nerd where others might have nerded before us. And we’re going to enjoy it.

  1. Welcome back to the blogosphere, I add you to my blogroll

  2. Thank you kindly, I shall add you as well. 🙂

  3. Hey, welcome back! I was thinking about you just the other day. I think you’re still on my rotating roll. Just keep posting. 😉

    • Thanks, Rowan! I think for now blogging will stick with me, though it might be a bit low on the MMO side of things for a while. 🙂
